Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa are the holidays American children observe during December. But do all children around the world participate in the same festivities? Come to the Houston Natural Science Museum of Sugar Land on Friday, December 9, and learn the answer to this question and more. This program is sponsored by Parents for Academic Excellence (PACE).
Diversity provides a starting point for children to begin to understand and value the many distinct cultures of the world. PACE (Parents for Academic Excellence) is hosting “Festivals around the World” –at the Houston Museum of Natural Science – Sugar Land in conjunction with HNSM – Sugar Land Friday, December 9, from 6:30 – 9:00 pm – part of the museum’s Friday Family Fun Nights. This is a ticketed event – $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
This is an opportunity for the entire family to celebrate the best of many cultures right in their backyard and also get to taste delicacies from each country. The possible festivals represented include Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Parents, bring your camera! Santa might be at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land for this event.
