Queen Theatre’s debut production, Treasure Island, wowed Fort Bend theatre-goers earlier this autumn. Now Queen Theatre presents Little Women: The Musical, based on Louisa May Alcott’s beloved classic novel chronicling the sisters of the March family – Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy.
“The community’s response to Treasure Island was so tremendous,” said Executive Director Erika Waldorf. “We feel like Little Women is our holiday gift to Fort Bend. We’ve added some really special touches, including a live orchestra. Our hope is that families will take time out of their frenzied holiday preparations to enjoy a live performance of this American classic.”
Local actresses Katie Harrison, Riley Branning, Pamela M. Moore and Jessica Griffin will play Jo, Amy, Meg and Beth, respectively. A complete cast list is available at www.queentheatre.org/#/meet-the-cast/.
In keeping with the spirit of giving during the holiday season, Sugar Land kindergartener Addie Doss will be at each of the Sunday matinee performances of Little Women as part of her campaign to raise money to fight cancer. “I believe that some people can help cancer,” says Addie, “and I’m one of them.” Visit www.queentheatre.org to watch a video of this remarkable little girl talking about her mission.
Little Women: The Musical will run from December 2nd through December 18th. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with matinees at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Visit www.queentheatre.org for ticketing information.
