To assist families in neighboring counties who have been displaced or impacted by the recent wildfires, Missouri City is coordinating a clothes and food drive in partnership with State Rep. Ron Reynolds.
Citizens and businesses are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, toiletries, diapers, and new or gently-used clothing, jackets and blankets to the Fire & Rescue Service Station 1 building, located at Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Rd. Donations should be neatly packed in boxes or carrying bags so they can be easily distributed.
“Many of our friends across the state have lost all of their belongings due to the Texas wildfires,” Mayor Allen Owen said. “Missouri City is known for its generous spirit of giving in times of crisis and we are asking our citizens to respond once again and donate whatever they can to help families in need.”
Donations will be accepted until Sept. 30. For more information, please call 281-403-4326.
