BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH TELEMARKETER: * “Be polite.” If you are rude they may schedule frequent call backs. * “Don’t ask them to take you off their calling list.” Instead say: “Put me on your DO NOT CALL list”. Could be there is no calling list. They use a phone book. * “Allow time to hear who they represent.” Then politely ask to be put on their DO NOT CALL list.
WHAT I DO? I envision the caller as a person who gets paid by the number of calls or who must call until meeting a quota to get paid. I am polite and after I hear a few sentences I tell them I am not interested and now I need to hang up as I am in the middle of baking a cake. Then I say good bye and “immediately” hang up.
IF THESE CALLS UPSET YOU: I suggest you use an answering machine to receive your calls. Listen so that you can pick up if you wish.
