Pets of Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels
clients not forgotten during holidays

Pets are not forgotten during holidays – Pictured (l to r): Cecily Jennings, DVM - Banfield, The Pet Hospital(r) and Kristin Weiss - Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, with staff from Banfield-The Pet Hospital(r).

The Banfield Charitable Trust, in partnership with Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) and Banfield, The Pet Hospital(r), helped to feed hungry pets this past holiday season with its annual Season of Suppers campaign, a national Pet food drive, which ran November 1 through December 31, 2009. During the Season of Suppers campaign, which began in 2005, Banfield, The Pet Hospital, collected over 30 bags of pet food for the pets of the homebound seniors in the Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheel program.

"Not only do we care about our Seniors, we care about their pets, too," said Manuela Arroyos, CEO of Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels. "We can't thank Banfield, The Pet Hospital(r), MOWAA and The Banfield Charitable Trust for providing an opportunity to help our Seniors by feeding their companion pets."

"Season of Suppers touches many people's hearts, and it is a joyful time for everyone involved," said Dianne McGill, executive director and chief executive officer of the Banfield Charitable Trust. "When we first started this campaign, we never imagined how quickly it would grow. The support from volunteers and MOWAA program directors has exceeded every goal we envisioned for the program's growth. We are humbled by the generosity donors have shown with their support, especially given our difficult economic times."
