A former Fort Bend ISD teacher from Baines Middle School has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child after a reported inappropriate student/teacher relationship.
According to the sheriff’s office, Rebecca Ann Bramlett, 33, was pulled over on a routine traffic stop in far east Fort Bend County in late April. When the deputy engaged Bramlett in conversation during the traffic stop, according to the sheriff’s spokesperson, she voluntarily
revealed she was a teacher and the 16 year old boy in her car was her boyfriend.
As a result of the traffic stop and the “volunteered” information provided by Bramlett, an investigation was initiated. After allegations surfaced of an inappropriate student-teacher relationship Bramlett resigned the following Tuesday from her teaching position at Baines Middle
School. She had been with FBISD for several years and most recently at Baines teaching Language Arts.
Thursday evening, May 1, several deputies accompanied by the Chief Deputy ran a search warrant at Bramlett’s parent’s home in Sienna Plantation. Bramlett, her husband and children also reside in the Sienna Plantation development but in a different neighborhood from her parents.
Bramlett was arrested early Friday morning at a beach house in Galveston owned by her parents.
Rebecca Ann Mushinski Bramlett has deep ties to Fort Bend County. She grew up on the east side of the county attending Dulles High School from 1989 until graduation in 1993.
She is currently in the Fort Bend County Jail facing felony charges of sexual assault of a child. Her bond is set for $40,000.
