Shortly before 10 p.m. last Friday night, a Riverpark man was ambushed at his back door.
Sugar Land police were called to a home in the 2600 block of Stonesbury in the recently annexed subdivision of Riverpark. According to authorities, at 9:46 p.m. a male resident of the home was entering through his back door when he was attacked from behind by upwards to six masked males.
During a physical altercation, one of the masked men produced a gun and ended the fight. The resident was taken into the home when he was sequestered and bound. Another resident of the home was upstairs in the shower, they were brought downstairs and tied up. According to police, two of the intruders held the residents hostage while the others ransacked and looted the home.
Based on information from the victim, the suspects were in the home for less than an hour.
