On Tuesday, May 25, Around 7:30pm, Sugar Land police were notified of a man yelling and running through the streets of the Creekshire subdivision.
Police were sent to investigate. As they approached the area of Woodmere and Creekshire they learned the man running and yelling was the victim of a car burglary who was in hot foot pursuit of the suspect. The suspect, a teenage male, had managed to elude his pursuer by jumping fences. Sugar Land police quickly set up a perimeter in the neighborhood and started checking yards.
A police officer on the perimeter, in the 3500 block of Santa Rosa, found a male matching the description of the suspect coming out of a door in his own back yard. As well as looking like the suspect, he had injuries consistent with scaling fences and running through shrubbery. Further investigation revealed that the teen was the car burglary suspect. He was arrested. Property from the car burglary was recovered from the teen’s room.
He was booked into the Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention facility.
