It wasn't business as usual for Amegy Bank, in the 14900 block of the Southwest Freeway, last Thursday, June 3.
Sugar Land Police were called to a robbery in progress about 3:45 that afternoon. Responding units were told that two black males had entered the bank, robbed it and fled.
Within two minutes the first patrol unit was on the scene. Other responding units were notified that the suspects had fled the bank in a mid 90's, blue, Ford Focus. They were last seen traveling north on the Southwest Freeway feeder road. Although responding units fanned out and blanketed the area, the suspects were not found.
As the investigation progressed, police learned that one of the suspects fired one shot inside the bank from a handgun he was using to rob the bank. No physical injuries were reported.
The crooks got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No further information was available at press time.
