Local, state, and federal agents participating in a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative snagged two purported drug traffickers.
According to sheriff’s spokesperson Terriann Carlson, Gerald Wade and Prince Woods traveled to Fort Bend County on May 27 with the intent to “purchase a large amount of illegal narcotics.” The duo had made arrangements to meet their seller in the parking lot of a business along US 90A. As the pair left Houston, federal agents followed and monitered their every move.
Eventually, the duo was arrested near the intersection of US 90A and Ellis Creek near New Terrority subdivision. At the time of their arrest Wade and Woods were in possession of $87,097 in cash and a 357 Glock handgun. According to Carlson, the money was discovered by agents packaged in four seperate bundles, hidden inside the car.
Wade and Woods were both arrested and charged with illegal investment and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Both faced bonds of $115,000 each; $100k for the illegal investment, and $15k for possession of a firearm by a felon.
