Rosenberg police responded to a burglary of a storage building in progress early Thursday morning and nabbed one of the suspects after a brief foot chase.

Just after midnight on July 1, Rosenberg police responded to a burglary at the Briarstone apartments in the 4700 block of Reading Road. When officer Gary Roberts arrived on the scene he saw a vehicle occupied by two males leaving the facility. When officer Roberts attempted to stop the vehicle, both occupants fled on foot, running through the complex. “After a brief foot pursuit, Larry Jones, 19, of Rosenberg was detained by police,” said Lieutenant Colin Davidson.

Davison said the property taken in the burglary was recovered and Jones has been charged with burglary, evading detention, and resisting arrest.

Although the second suspect was not detained that night, his involvement and identity are still under investigation.
