Former SMSD superintendent H.D. Chambers moves on to Alief ISD
Monday, April 11, H.D. Chambers, who served Stafford’s Municipal School District as its superintendent since 2006, said goodbye.
Chambers said that he has officially moved into his new role as superintendent of schools for the Alief Independent School District. “While I am genuinely excited to begin my new role in Alief, I am truly going to miss the students, staff and community of Stafford MSD and Fort Bend County,” he said.
He expressed his appreciation for the support he had while at the Stafford school district and said that he is confident that the next SMSD superintendent of schools will have the same positive experience he did.
Chambers said it will take team work from the school districts, parents, elected officials, and business communities to ensure the education of each student in a quality environment, also recognizing the dramatic challenges facing public education.
There is a current search underway to fill Chambers’ vacancy. Betty Baitland, former FBISD superintendent, heads Stafford’s school district as its Interim Superintendent.
