Last week’s Choir Banquet and program included shining students, great music, and good food. Choir Booster members and choir director Ladricca Price deserve a huge shout-out for their efforts to recognize student talent and achievements. Another active volunteer group is the Stafford Spartans Athletic Booster Club (SSABC).
At last Friday’s banquet, the SSABC gave out $8,000 in scholarships, in addition to providing every coach and athlete with a ticket to the event. This financial support was in addition to the $2,500 that was given to the athletic program for the purchase of PE uniforms for all athletes in grades 7-12. President Lisa Thompson said she is very appreciative of the parents that have assisted with year-long fundraising through the athletic concession stands. She announced at the banquet that the board has several openings for next year.
New officers for the 2011-12 school year will be elected at the next SSABC Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 16 at 6:30 in the middle and high schools’ library.
