Richmond Fire Dept. reaches out to young people

The Richmond Fire Department reaches out to young people by way of the Internet, get up to date fire safety message for young people.   Many children are familiar with searching the internet for information.

The Richmond Fire Department website offers fun facts and games that offer a safety message with children in mind.  Activities and games can be found by going to www.richmondfd.com.  Find Sparkey and click.  The site opens to games, fun facts and activities for children.

The site is sponsored by The National Fire Protection Association.  Fire Chief Mike Youngblood said “Our staff is very proactive when it comes to delivering message about fire and water safety to the community.  We look for ways to reach young ones as well as adults.  We are thinking of new ways to reinforce the message we deliver during the school year.  Making available safety messages by way of the internet is just one way we can reach people, even in their homes.”  Take a tour of the site.  You will find information about the Richmond Fire Department, membership, emergency management, safety messages and current information about potential weather threats to the community.
