I9 Sports hits the area running
By Sean Wolfson
Jason and Leeaane Watson had a dream. They wanted to own a business that made a difference in kids lives. In January 2011, they bought into a franchise called i9 Sports whose corporate office is in Brandon Florida. I9 Sports started in 2003 and currently has 120 franchises in the U.S. There are 7 in the Houston area.
i9 focuses on creating a fun, safe, convenient environment for kids. Character, teamwork, sportsmanship, and education are stressed way before winning.
However, score is kept, referees are employed, and each players stats are kept online so that the grandparents can brag to their friends while playing golf and bridge.
In the spring of 2011, Jason and Leeanne had 2 sports and 205 kids participating. It went so well that they expect over 500 kids that will play soccer, basketball, flag football, and cheerleading.
The major difference in I9 vs most kids sports leagues is that all games are played on weekends and a 45 minute practice is followed immediately by
Children can choose to play on the same team as his or her best friend! Boys and girls ages 3-14 are accepted and all leagues are co-ed. The fall league begins October 11 and runs for 8 weeks.
This family owned and operated league is currently taking registration for the fall. Go to www.i9sports.com or call Jason with any questions at 832-631- PLAY.
