Sugar Land produces another future Taekwondo Olympian
Giselle Giambi is 10 years old and in fourth grade at Dickinson Elementary School in Greatwood. She is the current Amateur Athletic Union (A.A.U.) National Taekwondo Champion as well as the A.A.U. Junior Olympic Taekwondo Champion for her age and weight division.
This summer Giselle trained sixteen (16+) hours per week to get ready for competition. She has competed in 7 tournaments from January 2011 to July 2011 and is currently undefeated for year.
Giselle has been training in taekwondo since age 4. She started competing and won her first gold medal at the age of 5.
She has been a member of the Young Brothers Taekwondo G-Force competition team since 2009. Giselle trains at Young Brothers Taekwondo in Houston, under her father Master Mark Giambi, 8th Dan and is coached by her older brother Gianni Giambi, 3rd Dan.
Giselle has her sights set on the 2012 Olympic Games in Rio De Janiero, Brazil.
