Chinese watercolor brush paintings on display

Shown is a Chinese brush painting of flowers.

An exhibit of Chinese watercolor brush paintings will be on display throughout the month of October at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sugar Land Branch Library, 550 Eldridge. The Lingnam-style brush paintings are from the collection of Sugar Land resident, Dao Truong.

Born in South Vietnam, Truong escaped on one of the refugee boats with one of his most-treasured possessions hidden beneath his shirt – a watercolor painting done by his teacher. A student of the Lingnam Style of Chinese Watercolor, Truong has continued to study and perfect the technique over the years, gradually developing his own unique and innovative style.

The exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2140 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
