Lee Duggan, lll, announces candidacy for State Rep. in the new HD 85

Sugar Land businessman Lee Duggan, III, is a conservative Republican running for the newly drawn State Representative House District 85, an open seat. HD 85 includes southwestern Fort Bend County and all of Wharton and Jackson Counties.

“I was honored when leaders and members of the community asked me to run for State Representative of this new district”, said Duggan.

“I am a lifelong conservative Republican capable of bridging the rural and suburban needs of District 85. I am guided by strong family values and conservative fiscal and social principles. Fighting for those values and principles will be the cornerstone of my campaign and my legislation, if elected. I will listen to the constituents and serve honorably.”

Duggan is at the helm of two successful, long-time businesses in Fort Bend County, both of which focus on construction. He has also had business interests in the energy industry. Duggan and his family have a long history in agriculture through ranching and farming activities.

His community involvement includes serving as a Board Member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance, where he also served as a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee. He has served as a Member of the Executive Board for Fort Bend County Young Life,is currently on the Board of Trustees for Fort Bend Cares.

Lee Duggan has been a resident of Fort Bend County for more than 40 years. His father, Lee Duggan, Jr., served as Mayor of Sugar Land for nine years. Lee and his wife of 30 years, Susie, are active members of Christ United Methodist Church and have two married daughters, Sara and Haley.
