Missouri City welcomes new Emergency Management Coordinator
Missouri City Fire & Rescue Service announces that Judy Lefevers has joined the team as Emergency Management Coordinator. She brings 15 years of emergency management experience to the position. Most recently, Lefevers was the Regional Planning Coordinator for the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management, a position she had held since August, 2010. She was responsible for the development, maintenance, and revision of the County’s comprehensive emergency management plans.
“Judy’s vast experience will bring a lot of value to the City and the division of emergency preparedness,” Fire Chief Russell Sander said. “We’re looking forward to the contributions she will make to our team.”
Prior to her work with Fort Bend County, Lefevers spent eight years with the U.S. Army in a civilian role putting her expertise to work in contingency and exercise planning in Virginia and Puerto Rico. Her accomplishments included planning and executing an 18-nation security exercise in the Caribbean with more than 1,200 participants and serving as Planning Section Chief in the Fort Eustis, Virginia Emergency Operations Center during Hurricane Isabel. Prior to her work with the Army, Lefevers served six years active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard.
She has a Master’s degree in Project Management from Colorado Technical University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture from the United States Coast Guard Academy. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lefevers now lives in Katy with her husband and daughter.
