Get ready for fun-filled Rosenberg holiday celebrations
The City is excited to announce its two upcoming holiday events for the community, the City Hall Gazebo Lighting, and Christmas in Rosenberg, scheduled for Wednesday, November 30, and Saturday, December 3, respectively.
This year’s Gazebo Lighting will be held Wednesday, November 30, at City Hall, 2110 4th Street, starting at 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to share in the festivities and help officially kick off Rosenberg’s holiday season with Mayor Vincent M. Morales, Jr., Rosenberg First United Methodist Church Children’s Choir, and honored guests for the evening, Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Girl Scout Troop 3503 will provide arts and crafts activities for the children in attendance, and parents are encouraged to bring their camera for photographs of their children with Santa and Mrs. Claus. For more information on the City Hall Gazebo Lighting, contact Lydia Acosta, Recreation Programs Coordinator at email@example.com or (832)-595-3520.
Christmas in Rosenberg will be held Saturday, December 3, in historic downtown, from 3 to 9 p.m. The fun and festive evening event includes ample holiday entertainment from local community, school and church groups; visits and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus; gift, craft, and food vendors; a children’s carnival hosted by the Rosenberg Railroad Museum including a rock wall, obstacle course and inflatables; trackless train rides for the kids; and Rosenberg’s wonderful downtown merchants, eateries and attractions. CAST Theatrical will conduct theatre tours, and there will also be a drop-off station for Toys for Tots Fort Bend donations.
Entertainment lined up for this year includes the Reading Junior High Choir, the Huggins Elementary School Choir, the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant, Faith United Methodist Church Adult and Hand bell Choirs, the Lamar Consolidated Fillies, The B.F. Terry Rangerettes, Forever Dance, the Reading Junior High Cheerleaders, Extreme Danz, the Lamar Junior High Choir, and carolers from First Baptist Church Rosenberg.
Representative from Toys for Tots Fort Bend will be on hand to help kick off the Rosenberg Police and Fire Departments’ 2011 holiday drive to benefit Fort Bend area families. Toys for Tots and the US Marine Corps collect new, unwrapped toys for needy children in hopes of delivering a message of hope to those less fortunate to assist them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens. Attendees are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to the Toys for Tots Fort Bend booth at Christmas in Rosenberg.
