Fort Bend Theatre and Winnie-the-Pooh join Second Mile Mission in efforts to feed the hungry
Oh no, Eeyore has lost his tail! See Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and friends assist their old pal while donating to Stafford’s underprivileged population as Fort Bend Theatre presents A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail now through December 18, Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm at 2815 North Main Street in Stafford.
“We are pleased to once again raise awareness and offer assistance to Second Mile Mission,” states Executive Artistic Director Tarra McCain. “We applaud their efforts in feeding the hungry and as Winnie-the-Pooh reminds us when his tummy is empty, ‘there is always time for a little something.’ In this season of giving, it is extremely important we remember those families less fortunate than our own.”
Patrons are asked to bring nonperishable food items when attending shows. “Currently 8% of Fort Bend County’s population is living in poverty, including 10% of children under the age of 16. Second Mile Mission Center provides crisis care needs for more than 22,000 of these families each year. Organizations like ours face a growing need as more families seek help during these times of economic hardship. We are thankful for the support of Fort Bend Theatre and our community,” said Executive Director Sarah White.
Tickets are available online at the FBT website www.fortbendtheatre.com for $8 per person. Group rates are available. For more information, please call us at 281-208-3333.
