James Bowie Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society held its first annual dry/canned food drive during the week of November 14-18. Students and staff participated in the much needed collection of food to fill the pantry at the Fort Bend Women’s Center in Richmond. Overall, the students and staff donated more than $1,000 in canned goods and dry food for the shelter.

Patti Holt, director for the center, arranged for a drop-off of the goods on Friday, Nov. 18. Many of the food items will go toward the center’s Thanksgiving dinner. Members of the National Junior Honor Society were on hand to deliver the food.
