Suburban Sugar Land Women 2012 in review Fort Bend County exclusive service programs encouraged, educated, equipped, engaged, and empowered! First, we started the year with school supplies and clothing to three Fort Bend ISD schools. Next, education and training consisted of youth financial literacy, parent rights, and how to conduct pleasant and productive meetings. Then, we installed smoke alarms, recruited several new magnificant members and phenomenal partners, conducted voters registration and education drives, held an African American History program, awarded four first – time and three continuing scholarships; provided senior enrichment activities at three centers; ongoing mentoring and tutoring, food, supplies, services, resources, and referrals to our Fort Bend neighbors. Lastly, we ended the year with generous donations of sixty food baskets, and held an empowering scholarship recipients’ reunion at the home of Dan and Deborah Manning. The Mannings’ family of four provided the stellar leadership for both events. Thanks again, Dan, Deborah, Danele, and Dana. We sincerely appreciate and value your cheerful, willing, and generous support!
