Austin High School Angels were true angels this season

The Austin High School Angels Dance Team demonstrated the true spirit of giving this holiday season by adopting two Austin High School families that recently lost their homes. The Angels rallied to contribute their fashion sense, knack for fun, and love for shopping to help spread holiday cheer among the families. The dance team purchased toys, clothing and other items requested by the families.

“Not only were we able to meet and exceed our adopted families’ wish lists, we also had a great time building stronger relationships within our team by putting all the items together during our holiday celebration,” said Elizabeth Heathcock, director of the Austin Angels Dance Team.

This is the eighth holiday season that the Angels have adopted families. The program gives them a “hands-on” experience in supporting families in need. In the past, they supported young mothers at the Teen Pregnancy Center. The dance team also takes part in numerous other volunteer and fundraising efforts including the Tracie Hester / Life Donor Scholarship Walk; and their own Austin Angels Junior Clinic, a dance clinic for younger girls. which will take place on April 28 this year.
