Stafford MSD – Did you know…

The Stafford Middle School 7th grade boys have made school history!  After the 7th grade A-team Football team went undefeated, the Boys’ A and B Basketball teams turned in undefeated seasons as well!   This marks the first time in school history that there was an undefeated Football and Basketball season for the same grade and same year in the middle school. According to their coaches, the athletes have started their pursuit to win district in track and are pushing hard to continue their success for many years to come. Congratulations to some of the hardest working 7th Grade athletes in the State of Texas! Go Mighty Spartans!

The Stafford Middle School Family Science Night was a huge success last night!  The event provided students an opportunity to shine by showing off their science fair projects.  Parents also received a brief overview of what their children have been doing in class and what they can do at home to encourage academic success.   The event was well attended and the new cafeteria was filled with creative and interesting projects from 7th and 8th graders.  Go Mighty Spartans!

Representatives from Comerica Bank taught 102 middle school math students about Financial Literacy!   Making presentations were Larry Baker, Yvonne Hancock, Chad Stephenson, and Brent Harraman.  According to teacher Paul Roberts, the students listened carefully and asked many relevant questions about checking and savings accounts, credit, credit cards, lending, the Federal Reserve, principal, interest, and all aspects of personal finances.  Vanessa T. Reed, Comerica Bank’s Corporate Compliance and Public Affairs CRA Manager of South Texas, along with SMSD Career Bridge Counselor, Cherise Roberts, coordinated this event.  Thank you Comerica Bank!
