The applause just kept coming for The Angels at Austin High School, as they took home several awards at the First MA Houston High School Shootout. This new contest was just for our High School Dance and Auxiliaries.  This regional high-profile competition gave the Angels an opportunity to compete with and enjoy performances with many great high school teams from across the state including sister teams from Bush, Dulles, Travis, Kempner, and Ridge Point.  The February 25 event was held at Katy Taylor High School. The wins come right before MA Nationals- March 24-27 in Dallas.

The Angel Dance Officers received the following honors: Super Sweepstakes for all ratings over 90 in every category, Outstanding choreography for their Modern, Contemporary and Jazz Dances.  They also received top honors for their Oustanding Dance Technique and Winners Circle.

The Angels Dance Team received the following honors: Super Sweepstakes, Outstanding Choreography for Lyrical, Modern, Pom and Military and won high point honors for both their Pom and Military Dances.  They had the Overall Top Technique score out of all the teams in attendance.  They were named Best in Class Large Division Team and placed Second overall out of all the teams competing.

Marcella Acosta, Ally Owen, Hailey Johnson and Anneliese Chitty all received a Divsion I rating for thier solo performances.  Marcella Acosta was a top seven soloist and she was named 3rd runner up in the 11-12 Sr. Solo Finals Competition.
