Missouri City observes National Crime Victim’s Rights Week

At their April 2 meeting, Missouri City Council Members Proclaimed the week of April 22 through April 28 as “National Crime Victims’ Rights Week” in Missouri City.
Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald, praised Toni Slusser, the City’s Crime Victim Liaison, for the work she does for crime victims. He said she “is very caring and a lot of the needs of victims would go unmet without her efforts.”
In addition, Council Members proclaimed April “National Sexual Assault Awareness Month”. This year’s campaign encourages the concept of respect. Individuals and communities should respect one another in order to prevent sexual violence and they also should foster relationships that are consensual, respectful and informed.
