Kempner AFJROTC Cadets win 4th Consecutive Overall Championship
Saturday, February 25, the AFJROTC cadets of Kempner High School won the Overall Points Championship at the Cleveland (previously Ellington Field) Drill Meet for the Fourth Consecutive year. This is the premier Drill Competition for Air Force JROTC programs in the Houston Metropolitan area.
Besides the Championship trophy Kempner won 5 event trophies. The Armed Drill Team won their Exhibition Drill with a scintillating performance including multiple rifle tosses. The Academic Team also won First Place with Matthew Lively garnering the highest test score. The First Place Tug-of-War team was undefeated with 4 straight winning pulls. The Physical Training Team placed second while scoring some awesome numbers in push-ups and sit-ups. Another highlight saw the Un-Armed Drill Team perform their enhanced Exhibition Drill to win 2nd Place.
By winning this meet every year of their high school career, the graduating seniors finished 4 for 4, and left no doubt. Way to go JROTC Cougars.
