Fort Settlement Middle School Band named Exemplary Band Program of the Year

The Fort Settlement Middle School Band has been selected as the Middle School Exemplary Band Program of the Year by the Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA). Each year, one high school and one middle school band program in the state is awarded this distinction by TBA to recognize their consistent, exemplary performing band programs.

In July, the band and its Director, Greg Countryman, will be presented the award at the annual TBA Convention in San Antonio.

“The Fort Settlement Middle School Band has been a consistent example of excellence over a long period and has developed that reputation under the consistent leadership of Director Greg Countryman and staff,” said Tom Harrington, TBA President. “In presenting this award, TBA also recognizes that this program places a high priority on the development of individual students and the joy of making music. The Fort Settlement Middle School Band is truly one of the most exemplary middle school band programs in Texas.”
