Three FBISD DestiNation Imagination Teams advance to Global Competition

Seven Fort Bend ISD teams competed in the State Destination Imagination tournament on April 14 with three teams advancing to the Global Finals, which will be held May 23-26 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

This year, more than 8,000 students representing 1,200 teams have advanced to the Global Finals. This celebration of creativity will feature unique solutions for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), Improv, Theater Arts, and Community Service challenges.

Advancing to the Global Finals are:
• Hurricane Lane’s Finest (2nd place, Secondary Level Project Outreach) – comprising members Nicolas George (Hightower High School), Donald Jones (Hightower High School), Sanjiv Gopalkrishnan (Hightower High School), Akila Gopalkrishnan (Baines Middle School) and Team Manager Sharada Vitalpur.

• The Thinkanators (2nd place, Elementary Level Project Outreach) – comprising members from Quail Valley Elementary School: Giselle Estada, Julian Garza, Sydney Lendermon, Elise Pierce, Annie Rule, Alekcia Saldana, Grace Snyder and Team Manager Eden Rule.

• The Everytimers (3rd place, Elementary Level Challenge E – comprising members from Quail Valley Elementary School: Braden Mallory, Haley Fernandez, Logan Bobo, Jacob Rodriguez, Kirby Harpster, Luke Campbell, Jonni-Lee Campbell and Team Manager – Michelle DeLome.
