Rosenberg Mayor says claims are untrue

Dear Editor,

It was troubling to read the outright lie paid for by Rep. Pete Olson’s political opponent where she claimed that citizens can only access their congressman through paid events.

The fact is, Pete Olson regularly holds town hall meetings each year that are advertised, free and open to the public throughout his district. He also speaks frequently to local exchange and rotary clubs, as well as visiting dozens of schools throughout the congressional district. Olson makes it a priority to be available to the people of our area.

The Fort Bend Chamber and Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance have charged for events where Olson spoke, but those funds were charged by the chambers and were not received on behalf of the Congressman.
