Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) concludes successful year
As the Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) concludes its 2011 – 2012 League year, it is pleased to announce that it has raised approximately $300,000 for the Fort Bend County community this year.
Proceeds were raised through various fundraising events, including Sugar Plum Market, Charity Ball and sales of the League’s second cookbook, Treasures from the Bend, Rich in History and Flavor. Additionally, the League received funds as beneficiary of Sugar Land Town Square’s Restaurant Week and through participation in their Giving Spirits Concert Series. Additional funds were raised in conjunction with partnering organizations ongoing, collaborative effort to benefit the American Cancer Society. Numerous worthy Fort Bend County charities benefited from the League’s donations. In addition to funds donated back to the community, FBJSL members volunteered an estimated 19,000 hours during the 2011 – 2012 League year.
FBJSL is currently hosting its annual membership drive and invites ladies interested in membership to attend events scheduled for this summer. A Bring-A-Friend social will be held at PF Chang’s in Sugar Land on Thursday, May 24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. An informational meeting will be held on July 12 at Azuma at 6pm. A second informational meeting is scheduled for August 7 at a location to be announced.
