Missouri City’s Branch Library offers schedule of summer programs for kids
Missouri City Branch Library, 1530 Texas Parkway, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Toddler Time, Story Time, Pajama Night Story Time, and School-Age Programs — every month. These programs are free and open to the public.
Toddler Time — Tuesdays at 10:15 am — offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. The June schedule of Toddler Time activities is as follows:
June 5 – Rainbow World
June 12 – Father’s Day
June 19 – Pet Friends
June 26 – Monkeys
Pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age, will enjoy Story Time, where they hear stories, watch movies, and participate in age-appropriate craft activities, beginning at 10:15 am each Wednesday, and at 10:30 am each Saturday. The June schedule is as follows:
June 2 – NO PROGRAM
June 6 and 9 – Rainbow World
June 13 and 16 – Father’s Day
June 20 and 23 – Pet Friends
June 27 and 30 — Monkeys
Pajama Night Story Time — Mondays at 7:00 pm — gives families an evening option for the activities presented during the daytime. The June schedule is as follows:
June 4 – Rainbow World
June 11 – Father’s Day
June 18 – Pet Friends
June 25 – Monkeys
The School-Age Programs — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in 1st through 5th grades – take place every Thursday, beginning at 2:00 pm. These programs will take place at Missouri City Civic Center, 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City. The June schedule is as follows:
June 7 – Birds, Books & Beyond (Presented by Houston Audubon Society)
June 14 – Animals with Backbones (Presented by Nature Discovery Center)
June 21 – Get a Clue with Origami (Presented by Oasis for Children)
June 28 – Top Secret: Spy-a-Book (Presented by Julian Franklin)
The Teen Programs, which begin at 2.00 pm on Tuesdays, are designed for youth in grades 6-8. The June schedule is as follows:
June 5 – Chocolate Olympics
June 12 – In the Forensics Lab
June 19 – Win It in a Minute
June 26 – Movie Night
