FBISD high school bands, choirs and orchestras receive UIL Sweepstakes Awards
FBISD high school fine arts programs won numerous Sweepstakes awards at recent UIL competitions. Sweepstakes awards are given to those receiving a composite First Division (Superior) ranking from the set of three judges in both the concert and sight-reading portions of the contests.
For the high school Varsity Band UIL contests, the following schools earned Sweepstakes awards: Austin, Bush, Clements, Dulles, Kempner and Travis.
For the high school Varsity Choir UIL contests, the following schools earned Sweepstakes awards: Clements – Mixed, Tenor/Bass and Treble Choirs;
Hightower – Mixed Choir; Kempner – Treble Choir; Marshall – Treble Choir; and Travis – Mixed Choir.
For the high school Varsity String Orchestra UIL contests, the following schools earned Sweepstakes awards: Austin, Clements, Dulles, Kempner and Travis.
