Dulles HS Band holds annual spring banquet

Dulles High School Viking Band held their 40th annual Spring Banquet on May 19 in the Dulles High School cafeteria.  The banquet theme this year was Happy Trails as we said goodbye to our graduating seniors of the Class of 2012.

This year’s Booster Club Scholarships of  $500 were awarded to:  Casey Cardenas (Doll Captain), Ryan Chow (Drum Major), Clarice Guan, Justin Kosley, Camden Ogier, and Ashley Wolf.   The Bill Duggan Scholarship recipient was Luke Baker, Band President.  Carolyn Spitz received the 20th annual Jennifer Berkenkamp $1,000 Memorial Scholarship.

The following students were recognized for making All State Band:  Gilian Bentulan, Christine Muniz, Ryan Chow and Luke Baker.  This was Ryan and Luke’s second time to achieve this accomplishment.

During the 2011-2012 season, the Viking Band received Sweepstakes at both UIL Marching Contest and UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest.  The DHS Viking Band is under the direction of  Joe Pruitt, Head Director, and Jordan Tuggle, Assistant Director.
