8th Annual Summer Explosion 2012 Camp hosted by Fort Bend Regional Council
Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. (FBRC) in collaboration with LCISD hosted its eighth annual Summer Explosion Camp. Seventy students who are entering the 7th grade and 20 past campers from four different LCISD schools attended the day camp.
Seven FBRC counselors worked hard and prepared activities that gave students the opportunity to participate in fun, safe and healthy activities such as arts & crafts, cooking, photography, games, sports, dance and environmental awareness. Each activity taught the students respect, team building and other life skills essential for success in school as well as the outside world.
Fort Bend Regional Council has served Fort Bend County for 35 years striving to help young people grow up drug free. Through its mission of providing families and individuals substance abuse prevention, education and treatment services they need for positive change for themselves and the community, FBRC’s youth counselors work on 35 school campuses, primarily in the LCISD school district, teaching students skills to stand against the immeasurable pressure to drink and try drugs.
