FBISD’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools Division honors Community Partners

Pictured (from left) are Deputy Frank Davis, Sergeant Kathy Rader, Deputy Dennis McAfee, Deputy Charles Sonnier, Deputy Jerome Ellis, Deputy Diane Fuldinwider, Deputy William Bennett and Corporal Roger Barton of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department; and Dr. Olwen Herron, FBISD Chief Academic Officer; and Mike McKie, FBISD Assistant Superintendent.

Fort Bend ISD’s Safe and Drug-Free Schools Department hosted its annual appreciation reception in May to honor its many community partners for their ongoing commitment and dedication to the students and staff of FBISD.

During the appreciation reception, representatives of various community organizations and agencies (including the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department, the Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse and the Fort Bend County Medical Society), shared details regarding their partnership with FBISD and the services they provide to help implement programs and activities to benefit students.

“Our community partners provide us with valuable services and resources to support our students and schools each year,” said Annette Henderson, Safe and Drug-Free Schools Facilitator. “Whether they serve on planning committees, volunteer time or provide us with much-needed resources to enhance safety efforts, our community partners make a positive difference in students’ lives, and we could not be more grateful.”
