Fort Bend County Women’s Center introduces new volunteer program
The Fort Bend County Women’s Center is excited to introduce a new way for the community to make a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through the new PennyWise “Pennies” Volunteer Program. This group of volunteers chooses to dedicate their time to the Women’s Center’s PennyWise Resale Centers.
Volunteers at the PennyWise Centers are called “Pennies” and earn different recognition levels based on how many hours of service they complete during the year. Copper Pennies donate 60 service hours per year; Silver Pennies donate 144 hours and Gold Pennies donate 288 service hours per year. Pennies work a minimum of 3-hour shifts. Pennies will receive a recognition pin denoting their level of service and are recognized on the Pennies Wall of Fame at each PennyWise location. Volunteers are able to pick any of six (6) positions: donation volunteers, donation center attendants, sorters, merchandise volunteers, greeters and pricers
