Jillian Ross of Clements High School named 2012 Coca-Cola Regional Scholar
Jillian Ross, a 2012 graduate of Clements High School, was selected as one of 250 finalists in the 2011-2012 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, presented by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. The program named 50 National Scholars and 200 Regional Scholars from a pool of 2,200 semifinalists who were named in the Class of 2012, the program’s 24th Class of Coca-Cola Scholars.
The semifinalists were interviewed by a selection committee of 30 college admissions officers, high school officials and nonprofit leaders for one of the 50 National Scholar awards of $20,000. The remaining 200 Scholars received $10,000 Regional Scholar awards. Selection was based on a demonstration of leadership, character and academic achievement. Semifinalists were also required to complete a biographical questionnaire and essay, provide a copy of their official grade transcript, as well as academic and personal recommendations.
Ross was among the Regional Scholars named during an awards presentation held in Atlanta, Georgia, April 12-15, during the Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend.
