Patton named to lead Wessendorff Middle School

At its regular June meeting, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees approved Margaret Patton as principal at Wessendorff Middle School.

Patton is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education. She received her master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University.

Most recently Patton was the principal at Missouri City Middle School in Fort Bend ISD. She also served as principal of Barbara Jordan Elementary School in FBISD.

She began her career in Louisiana, where she taught Special Education, Business, Computer Literacy at the secondary level. She was an Assistant Principal for two years in Louisiana before moving to Texas. Patton taught Special Education and was a Dean of Instruction in Fort Bend ISD prior to becoming a principal.
