Sugar Land Sun moves offices out of Fort Bend
A company out of Reno, Nev. has reportedly purchased the Houston Community Newspaper chain which includes The Fort Bend Sun and The Sugar Land Sun.
The Houston Community Newspaper chain owns 26 Houston area newspapers plus an online component called YourHoustonNews.com. The name of the Nevada company purchasing the Houston Community Chain is 10/13 Communications.
Nobody at 10/13 Communications, which is currently working out of the Conroe Courier, would return calls.
Offices of The Fort Bend Sun and The Sugar Land Sun have moved out of Sugar Creek and according to the classified department, the only department that would answer calls, they are now sharing ofices with the Examiners in the Bellaire area. According to more than one source, several under performing newspapers will be closed or combined with others.
Rumors are that the Fort Bend Sun will discontinue circulation, although no one is saying what will happen to the Sugar Land Sun.
