Laundry burglars busted

An alert neighbor and an quick thinking deputy constable bag and tag a couple of residential burglars near Pecan Grove.
In the wee hours of last Saturday morning a Pecan Grove man noticed that two strangers were loading up his neighbor’s washer and driver, from their garage, in the middle of the night. That concerned neighbor called 911 and got into his car and followed the crooks, providing the sheriff’s dispatcher with solid descriptions and travel locations.
Before the cops could arrive on the scene, the dispatcher told the concerned neighbor to stop following and go home. Fortunately, an alert Precinct 3 deputy constable on patrol in the neighborhood headed to the crook’s last known location. Shortly thereafter he found and stopped the appliance thieves. They were identified by the reporting neighbor as the thieves he had witnessed taking the washer and dryer, which were still in the back of the crook’s truck, as they sat on the side of the road.
Two Katy men were arrested and charged with burglary of a building. Neither of these suspects were strangers to the criminal justice system.
