Richmond Fire Department to host open house at Station 1

On Saturday, August 4, the City of Richmond Fire Department will be hosting an open house at Richmond Fire Department Station #1 located at 112 Jackson Street in Richmond. This event will run from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Come out and meet the firefighters who work at Station #1. Visitors will be treated to free refreshments, station tours, hose and nozzle spray demonstrations and many other exciting activities. Lady, the station #1 Dalmatian mascot will be on hand to greet visitors as well. Bring the family as there will be a coloring contest and prizes for the kids. Come and take your photo with one of the antique fire trucks and see the new Specialized Rescue Equipment.

The YMCA will be on hand to promote “Operation Back Pack”. Become a Back Pack Buddy! Help a child go back to school ready to learn. Purchase a back pack, fill it with grade appropriate supplies and drop it off at the YMCA or bring it to the open house event at the Richmond Fire Department.

It will be a fun and informative experience for everyone involved.
