On Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, Fort Bend Narcs along with their counterparts from the federally funded High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area HIDA agents seized approximately 5.4 pounds of methamphetamines (ICE) from a vehicle traveling north on U.S. 59.
According to the Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, Task Force members were out on the road conducting “Highway Interdiction” when Detective M.R. Hricko, a K-9 handler and member of the Task Force, observed a vehicle traveling suspiciously and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. 59 and Cottonwood Church Road in the Rosenberg area.
The bust was made when “Mike” the K9 assigned to Hricko alerted on the vehicle and the driver, followed by a detailed search of both. Haenel identified the driver as Marcelo G. Lucio, 37, of Houston. He has been arrested and charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance after Hricko discovered 5.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, commonly referred to as ICE, inside the vehicle.
The street value of the crystal meth is approximately $200,000, according to the Task Force.
