Tax free weekend this weekend
Texas shoppers will get a break from state and local sales taxes Aug. 17, 18 and 19 – the state’s annual tax holiday.
The tax holiday offers families the opportunity to save on needed back-to-school items.
Receive a break from sales tax on school supplies, backpacks and most clothing and footwear priced under $100, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.
Includes (not a complete list): Baby clothes/Backpacks for use by elementary and secondary students/Belts with attached buckles/Boots – cowboy, hiking/Caps & hats/ Coats and jackets/Diapers – adult and baby/Dresses/Gym suits and uniforms/Hooded shirts and hooded sweatshirts/Hosiery/Jeans/Jerseys – baseball and football/Jogging apparel/Pajamas/Pants and trousers/Raincoats and ponchos/Robes/Shirts/Socks & Shoes – sandals, slippers, sneakers, tennis, walking/Shorts/Suits, slacks, and jackets/Sweatshirts/ Sweat suits/Sweaters/Underclothes/Work clothes and uniforms
