Texas Master Naturalist 2012 Training Program

Texas Master Naturalists on a nature outing at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, in Rosenberg.

Would you like to learn more about nature and Texas’ natural resources?  Are you interested in helping to ensure that people will be able to enjoy the natural Texas for years to come?

“The Texas Master Naturalist Program is a statewide volunteer program designed to give community members more opportunity to experience the outdoors,” says Jim Butcher, President of the Coastal Prairie Chapter.  The program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildife Department. and Agrilife Extension.

The Chapter is now accepting applications for their Fall 2012 Training Program.  Classes and field work provide training in natural history, wildlife, and the ecosystems of the area.  Instructors include professors from Texas A & M and speakers from other Texas agencies.

Classes start Saturday, September 8, and will be held at various locations in Fort Bend County on either Thursdays or Saturdays for 8 weeks from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Class size is limited.  Applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

For information call 832-588-8431 or contact us at www.coastalprairie.org.
