Anna Borowski Pausewang,

Anna Borowski Pausewang, 88, of Sargent, Texas completed her baptismal journey August 14, 2012. Anna was born February 27, 1924 in Sealy, Texas to Pete A. and Mary Magdelena (Olbrych) Borowski. At age 9, her mother died. She and her younger sister, Janie were raised by their father and stepmother in Sugar Land, Texas.

Anna attended Lakeview Elementary and graduated from Sugar Land High School in 1941. After high school, she worked in the lab at Imperial Sugar.

In September of 1946, Anna married Walter Bruno “Buba” Pausewang at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land. They settled in southwest Houston until moving permanently to Sargent in 1981.

Anna was a loving and giving person who loved to cook, fish, travel, and teach by example.  She followed the academic and athletic activities of her grandchildren closely, spending many hours traveling to their events often enduring cold, wet, and sweltering heat in support. She was a “second” mother to many.

She was preceded in death by Walter, her husband of 56 years; sister, Janie Oberhoff, late life companion, Robert F. Schumann as well as her parents and step-mother, Lillian.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Pausewang Lane and her husband Bill; grandson, Chris Lane of The Woodlands; granddaughter, Allison Lane Plaisance and her husband Michael of New Orleans, LA; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Genevieve Plaisance of New Orleans; brother-in-law, Fritz Oberhoff of Rosenberg, and many godchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Head and Neck Center. Special thanks to Vitas Hospice for the loving care and compassion they provided to Nana and her family.

Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

A funeral mass was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George Street in Rosenberg with Father William D. Bartniski officiating.  Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
