Flying for Jerry’s Kids
The Fort Bend Radio Control Club will host its 14th Annual Model Air Show and Model Aircraft Fly-in on Saturday, September 1, in Rosenberg, when they fight Muscular Dystrophy and fly for Jerry’s Kids.
This Mini – Air Show will begin at 11:30 a.m. and run through 1 p.m. The show/fundraiser will showcase many of the miniature aircraft club members fly. The crowd can expect to see jet models that can reach speeds up to 200 mph, large quarter-scale Piper Cubs that fly along at 25 mph, as well as aerobatic stunts by seasoned controllers. Many of the aircraft range in size from the very small to models that range up to 40% of the actual full scale plane.
The public is invited to come see radio-controlled model airplanes at their best under the club’s new covered pavilion that stretches 200-feet long to keep guests out of the sun for their viewing pleasure.
The fundraiser will be held at the club’s new flying field, located on the Fort Bend County Recycle Center grounds on Spur 529, approximately 1 ¼ miles south of the Avenue I and Spur 529 intersection in Rosenberg. Signs will be posted directing guests to the Air Show.
Don’t miss the fun, flying will start at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. with a one-hour break between 11:30 and 1 for the Mini-Air Show. Demonstration flights will also include a Flying Lawn-Mower.
