Grown Up Spelling Bee set for August 24
Bring in the Bees! The time has finally arrived for the Literacy Council’s 3rd Annual Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee! Our teams have been “Busy Bees” studying in their hives, and now is their time to sting like a bee! This is an event that the community will not want to miss!
Teams of Fort Bend’s most prestigious Bees from Minute Maid, the City of Sugar Land, Roberts Markel Weinberg and many more Bees are ready to win that Bobble Head Bee Trophy and a coveted spot in our Honey Hall of Fame. It’s not too late to enter a team; call today and “bee” a part of the hive of activity on August 24.
All are welcome to attend this event and cheer on their favorite teams. Some Spellers may arrive dressed as the Wizards of Spelling, others as Dr. Seuss’ Spelling Assistants. Regardless of the costumes or the prizes at stake, it is all about F-U-N, P-H-I-L-A-N-T-H-R-O-P-Y and F-R-I-E-N-D-L-Y C-O-M-P-E-T-I-T-I-O-N! The event will take place at the University of Houston-Sugar Land Campus from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided by La Cocina Mexican Restaurant.
Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are still available for this event, and they range in price from $5,000 to $100.
If you are interested in attending this event, please call 281.240.8181 to reserve your seat today! Tickets are $25 if purchased pre-event and $30 if purchased at the door.
