“Buzzing” with the news of the Grown Up Bee

The Literacy Council of Fort Bend held its 3rd annual Great Grown Up Spelling Bee this past Friday at the UH Sugar Land campus. Teams of 3 adults included the Queen Bees team sponsored by Absolutely/Focus Magazine, Fort Bend Focus, comprised of (l-r) Claudia Valdez, Kristi Bajjali, Christy Petrie. This year’s event was emceed by Nancy Olson, with Rita Drabek, Sugar Land Mayor Jimmy Thompson, and Shayne Newell  serving as judges. Get“bee-sy” for next year’s event!
